We are hiring a compassionate and experienced Special Education Teacher to join our client’s academic team in the United Arab Emirates for AY-2023-2024. The successful candidate shall support teachers by designing and implementing individual and group intervention programs and inclusion supports for children with additional developmental, educational, or behavioral needs.

Job Responsibilities:

Promoting inclusion:
Provide in-service training to the community and school personnel regarding psychological services and the needs of students
Provide ongoing training, coaching, and consultation in the implementation of instructional interventions for students of determination
Observe classrooms in order to make recommendations of support needed for student success
Provide direction in the collection and interpretation of data so modifications can be made to the instructional program
Offering individualized support:
Support teachers in assessing children’s individual needs
Collaborate with teachers and parents to design individualized programs for children with additional needs
Keep records of interventions offered and records of children’s performance
Support development and compliance with Individualized Education Programs (IEP)
Partnerships:
Provide strategies, and activities to parents for use with their child with additional needs
Provide information and training sessions to parents regarding cognitive, emotional, and behavioral child development
Collaborate with parents to refer children to psychologists and other therapists, and to link them with recommended services

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s Degree graduate in Special Education, Early Childhood Development, or a relevant field. A degree in education supplemented by certifications/coursework in special needs will also be considered.
Native Arabic speaking (bilingual preferred)
Certified/licensed as a teacher in the home country or from the country of College/University degree.
Elementary Education license/certification and or Early Childhood license/certification
Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in PreK till 4/5 if a holder of a Bachelor of Education Degree from a recognized accredited or nationally licensed University or College;
More than 2 years of teaching experience; if a holder of a Bachelor’s Degree in a content area from a recognized accredited or nationally licensed University or College
Prior experience working with children with special needs

Deputy Director General of Academic Affairs for IB Schools in Abu Dhabi – UAE

We are seeking an experienced Deputy Director General of Academic Affairs who shall serve as the chief academic officer responsible for educational policy and academic programs at our school under the direction of the Director General in the United Arab Emirates. This includes program review and improvement, accreditation and self-evaluation, assessment of student learning and advancement of student success, academic personnel decisions, academic affairs budget development, enrollment management, fiscal accountability, program and curriculum development, and the encouragement and improvement of teaching and learning.

The Deputy Director General of Academic Affairs has primary leadership responsibilities for planning, implementing, and coordinating the educational programs of the Schools. In assuming these responsibilities, the Deputy Director General of Academic Affairs must work closely with Campus Directors, other administrators, and members of the faculty. While the managerial functions related to curriculum and instruction rest with the Campus Directors, the Deputy Director General of Academic Affairs serves as a leader in the long-term planning of educational programs, assuring the quality of instruction, selection, and development of a distinguished faculty, and furthering the strategic plan, the educational master plan, and the goals and objectives of our school.

The Deputy Director General of Academic Affairs will serve as an advisor to the Director General and Schools Board in matters related to curriculum and instruction, faculty selection, assignment, development, and retention. The Deputy Director General of Academic Affairs will be accountable for the achievement of academic goals and objectives within the scope of Academic Affairs as set forth in the strategic plan, and for assessing and meeting the educational needs of students.

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

A Master’s degree from an accredited institution;
Five years of senior administrative level leadership and experience in education;
Demonstrated skill in effective communication with people who are diverse in their cultures, languages and abilities;
Demonstrated sensitivity to and ability to work with the diverse academic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
Demonstrated experience with strategic planning, strong fiscal management linking resource allocation to planning and priorities (including data-driven decision-making) and leading the efforts to meet accreditation standards;
